Many years ago, I was exposed to the music of the Master Musicians of Jajouka. Later, I became personally acquainted with Bashir Attar, their leader, and one of the most extraordinary men I ever met (he introduced me to Ornette Coleman, for which I am eternally grateful).

Out of fascination for their music, I bought a raita; a double reed horn used in Jajouka music. My skills on the instrument are limited; and I rarely use it. But this is a track I played it on, and present to you.
